The setup guide opens when you confirm your address, and it stays in the menu as Get started — with your progress — until every step is done; then it is called Setup. Owners and admins of a workspace see it.

At the top, the steps Platform, Domain, Your data, Sending and First recipe can be clicked to jump between them. I'll do this later takes you to the dashboard; nothing you have done is lost.

Step 1: What are you working with?

Pick your platform — one click, no forms:

  • CloudCart, WooCommerce, Shopify — your store is connected in step 3.
  • OpenCart — orders and customers are synced; tracking on the site itself is not available yet.
  • Magento — orders are synced, and tracking works on Luma themes.
  • Another website — any site, with one tag.

Below, What best describes your business? (E-commerce, Media & content, Services & leads) is optional; it tunes the suggestions you get.

Step 2: Your domain

Type your Website address (for example acme.com — a full link is fine too) and click Continue. Monfri looks at your site and sets everything up while you watch the list: Analytics site, Notifications & email domain and Brand kit.

The card Your brand shows the name, logo and colours Monfri found on your site. Your e-mails use them, so correct anything that is wrong. You can change them again later: open Setup in the menu, step Your domain.

Have a second website? Use + Add another website. It gets its own workspace, and Monfri tells you so and switches you to it — see Workspaces: one per website.

Step 3: Connect your data

  • A store (CloudCart, WooCommerce, Shopify, OpenCart, Magento): enter the keys in the store card — Where do I find these? explains each one; products, customers and orders come in without code. Then Add the Monfri tag to your shop: on WooCommerce download the Monfri plugin and paste the key it shows; on the other platforms paste the tag where the card says. The tag brings visits, product views and carts, and shows the notification invitation and the chat. Details: Connect your online store.
  • Another website: copy the tag under Paste a snippet, or use Tag Manager. Details: Install the Monfri script on your site. The optional Browser notifications panel is for web push: Web push.

Have a list of subscribers? Import it. A CSV with an email column (a name column is optional), up to 10 MB, from your old tool or your shop. It goes into the Push list Imported contacts, and every address is checked. Tick Everyone in this file agreed to receive marketing e-mail if they did — without it the addresses are imported but get no campaign. The card follows the import; you can continue meanwhile. More: Import contacts into Push.

The live counter shows when your first events arrive (Your first visitor, live). Then click I can see your data — continue →, or Skip for now → and come back later.

Step 4: Sending

Every workspace gets a ready-made sender, so recipes and campaigns can send at once — You can send email right away.

Send from your own domain (recommended) lists the DNS records that let you send as [email protected]. Add them at your DNS provider; the guide checks again every few minutes, and Check again checks now. Step by step: Send e-mail from your own domain.

Migrating from another tool? Paste — or upload as CSV or TXT — the addresses that unsubscribed or bounced there, and say which they are. People who unsubscribed get no campaigns or marketing, but still get their order e-mails; addresses that bounced or complained get no e-mail at all. It protects your sender reputation from the first day.

Step 5: Start something real

Monfri suggests recipes for your kind of business. Tick the ones you want in Recommended bundle and click Activate selected, or switch on one recipe card at a time. When one is on, you see Your first automation is live. How recipes work: Recipes: ready-made automations.

Not ready? Finish without launching.

You're set up

The last page lists what is Already working and what is Still brewing — the parts that finish on their own. Go to dashboard → opens the Hub, where Your next step keeps track of what is left.

If something doesn't work

An item in step 2 shows an error

One item is still catching up — you can keep going, we'll finish it in the background. Continue; click Retry next to the item if it stays red.

"Please enter a valid domain, e.g. acme.com"

Type just the address of your site, without spaces.

"Your plan includes one workspace…"

A second website needs room in your plan: Choose a plan.

No events in step 3

Check that the tag is on the live site and that a cookie banner is not waiting for consent: Consent and cookies.

"Couldn't switch that recipe on"

The message under it says what the recipe needs — often a connected store or your sending domain.
