Connect your online store
Bring your products, customers and orders into Monfri — the connection wizard, where to find the keys on each platform, and what to sync.
Connecting your store brings its products, categories, customers and orders into CDP and keeps them in step. The chatbot's answers about orders, the back-in-stock and after-the-purchase recipes and your segments build on it. What happens on the site — visits, product views, carts, checkouts — comes from the Monfri tag, which the connection does not install: the cart reminders start from it, and it shows the notification invitation and the chat. Add it too — see Add the Monfri tag to your shop below.
Where to connect
- In the Hub's setup guide, step Your data: pick your platform, fill in the key, click Connect & start import. The form shows the steps to find the key next to it.
- In CDP: Commerce → Connections. The wizard has five steps, described below.
The wizard in CDP
- Choose Your E-commerce Platform — WooCommerce, CloudCart, Shopify, OpenCart or Magento 2.
- The keys — the platform's key and your Store URL. Monfri tests them: Connection successful, or Connection failed with the reason.
- Configure Data Sync — under Data to sync, tick Products, Orders, Customers, Refunds and Categories; under Backfill Depth, choose how far back to import: 3 months, 6 months, 12 months or Full history.
- Start Initial Sync — check the summary and start.
- Verifying Sync — the counts appear as they arrive: products synced, orders imported, customers matched, categories mapped, total revenue tracked. A large catalog can take a few minutes.
WooCommerce
- In WordPress, go to WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API.
- Click Add key. Description: "Monfri". Permissions: Read/Write — see below.
- Click Generate API key and copy the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret — they are shown only once.
- The Store URL is your shop's address, such as
https://yourshop.com.
Read/Write lets orders and customers arrive within seconds, the recipes create their discount codes, and the chatbot act on an order when you allow it. Read is enough to import your data and keep it in step every 30 minutes — but then a recipe with a discount sends a code your shop does not have, unless you create it yourself; the setup guide and the recipe's page say so.
Add the Monfri tag to your shop
- WooCommerce: in the setup guide, step Your data, download the Monfri plugin for WordPress. In WordPress: Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the file, Install Now, Activate; then Settings → Monfri CDP — paste the key the setup guide shows into Write key and save. The plugin also recognises signed-in customers, so their visits and carts join their orders.
- Shopify, CloudCart, OpenCart, Magento: the setup guide shows the tag and where it goes on your platform. The steps are the same as for any site — Install the Monfri script on your site.
The guide turns Your data green as soon as the first visit arrives.
CloudCart
In the CloudCart admin, open Settings → API, create a key named "Monfri" and copy it into API Key. The Store URL is your shop's address.
Shopify
- In Shopify admin, go to Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps.
- Create an app named "Monfri", then Configure Admin API scopes: read access to Products, Orders and Customers.
- Install the app and copy the Admin API Access Token (shown once).
The Store URL is your …myshopify.com address.
OpenCart
OpenCart has no built-in API that Monfri can read. Install a REST Admin API extension — from the OpenCart Marketplace, or ask your developer — and copy its key from the extension's settings into API Key. OpenCart connects for products, orders and customers; tracking on the site itself is not available for OpenCart yet.
Magento 2
In the Magento admin, go to System → Extensions → Integrations, add an integration "Monfri" with read access to Catalog, Sales and Customers, activate it and copy the Access Token. On-site tracking works with Luma-based themes.
Your keys
Monfri uses the key only to read your store — and, with Read/Write, for the actions you switch on. You can revoke it in your store at any time; the connection then stops until you add a new key. To pause the sync from Monfri instead, see Store sync: how often, what, and when it fails.
If something doesn't work
Connection failed
The message after it says why. Most often: the key was copied with a space or cut short, the Store URL is not the shop's own address (for example a www. address that redirects), or the key has no access to products, orders or customers. Create a new key and try again.
The import stays at 0
Some stores block requests from servers they do not know. Ask your host or developer to allow requests to the store's API. Then click Sync Now in Commerce → Connections.
OpenCart: Connection failed
The REST Admin API extension is not installed or not enabled, or its key is wrong. Check the extension's settings.
