Sample data: what it is and how to remove it

Example records that fill the screens on day one, never counted in your plan — and the one button that removes them.

A new workspace comes with example records, so that the screens are not empty on your first day and you can see how things look before your own data arrives.

What is added

  • CRM — example contacts, companies, leads, deals, projects and invoices.
  • CDP — ten example customer profiles: five known and five anonymous, all on example.com addresses. There are no example events, so your charts only ever show real visits.
  • Push — an example web push app, topics, subscribers, segments, templates and campaigns, and example e-mail contacts.
  • Automation — example folders, example connections (named "example — reconnect to use"), and draft example flows such as "Welcome Email on Signup (example)".

Pages, Assistant and Agents start empty.

They never count

Example records are never counted in your plan: they do not use up profiles, e-mails or any other limit. The example flows in Automation are drafts — nothing runs until you switch it on.

Remove them

When your own data is in, remove the examples in one go — owners and admins can:

  1. Open the dashboard (Overview). The card Your workspace still has sample data says how many example records are left and where.
  2. Click Remove sample data.
  3. Confirm: Remove the sample data from every service? Your own records stay.

You see Sample data removed from every service.

One exception, on purpose: if you issued a real invoice to an example contact or company in CRM, that invoice — and the contact or company it is made out to — stays. An issued invoice keeps its number.

If something doesn't work

"Sample data was removed except in … — try again in a minute."

One service did not answer in time. Click Remove sample data again a little later; what is already gone stays gone.

I don't see the card

Either the sample data is already removed, or you are not an owner or admin of the workspace.
