Transactional e-mail: every message, its status and why it did not arrive
The log of every one-to-one e-mail — recipes, order and system messages, tests — what each status means, a message's timeline, the deliverability view and checking one address.
Transactional e-mails go to one person because something happened: a cart left behind, an order placed, a password reset. Recipes and your flows in Automation, your shop's connection and the API send them, and every one is logged in Push → Email → Transactional. Campaigns are not here — they have their own reports.
Pick the period at the top — Last 24h, Last 7 days, Last 30 days or Last 90 days — and Export CSV to download it. Messages are kept for 13 months.
Messages
Every message with its Time, Recipient, Subject, Status and Source — Automation for a recipe or a flow's Send email step, API, Batch API, Assistant, Re-subscribe confirmation or Test send. Search by recipient, subject or message ID, and filter by status and source.
Every e-mail sent through the API says what it is — type transactional (an order, an account, an invoice) or marketing (everything else). A marketing e-mail gets the unsubscribe link and your postal address, and is not sent to someone who unsubscribed or to a risky address. From 26 October 2026 a send without type is refused; until then it goes with a warning in the response. Monfri's own services — Automation, CRM — already send it.
| Status | Means |
|---|---|
| accepted | Monfri took the message. |
| sent | Handed to the mail server. |
| delivered | The recipient's server accepted it. |
| deferred | The recipient's server asked to try again later; Monfri retries. |
| bounced | The recipient's server refused it. |
| failed | It could not be sent. |
| suppressed | Not sent: the address is blocked after a bounce. |
| complained | The person marked it as spam. |
| freq. capped | Not sent: the person already got as many recipe e-mails as your workspace allows in a day. |
| no consent | Not sent: a marketing recipe e-mail to someone without marketing consent, or who unsubscribed from your marketing e-mails. |
| invalid domain | Not sent: the address cannot receive e-mail — its domain does not exist or takes no e-mail, or it is a typo of a big provider such as gmail.con (with the suggested fix). |
| risky address | Not sent: a marketing e-mail to a risky address — a shared or temporary mailbox, or a domain without a mail server of its own. Order and account e-mails to it still go. You can allow the address. |
The recipe limits are set in the Hub: Workspace settings.
One message
Click a message for its page: Message ID (with Copy), Subject, From, Accepted at, Source, Flow — the flow and the step that sent it, for Automation — the template, and the Delivery timeline — every step with its time: sent, delivered, opened, clicked, or the bounce with the server's code and words. proxy open and security-scanner click mark the ones that were not a person. A blocked recipient shows a banner at the top.
Deliverability
The second tab shows the period as a whole:
- Sent, Delivered, Unique opens, Unique clicks and Needs attention;
- the issues: addresses that cannot receive e-mail, risky addresses a marketing e-mail skipped (with Allow next to each), messages retrying for more than 24 hours, and messages a provider refused on policy — the earliest warning about your reputation;
- Delivery outcomes and Engagement per day;
- Bounce reasons and Delivery delays (deferrals), grouped, with the raw server answer behind raw;
- Recipient domains — outcomes per destination; more than 2 % bounces, 5 % delays or any complaint is highlighted;
- DMARC authentication — what mailbox providers report about mail sent in your domain's name;
- Suppression list — how many addresses are blocked, by reason.
More about the numbers: Deliverability: reaching the inbox.
Why didn't this recipient get the email?
The Find recipient tab: type the address and click Check. It says whether the address is suppressed (with the reason and since when) or not suppressed, lists the messages sent to it, and the Bounce log (last 90 days, all mail) with the server's code and answer. It also says when the address unsubscribed from your marketing e-mails — marketing recipe e-mails stop then, order e-mails still go — and whether the address check found it invalid or risky, with Allow this address for a risky one.
If something doesn't work
A customer says the order e-mail never came
Check their address in Find recipient. delivered means their server took it — ask them to look in spam and promotions. bounced or suppressed shows why. No message at all means it was never sent: check the recipe or your shop's connection in Automation.
Many messages are deferred
The receiving provider is slowing you down — often a new domain or a sudden jump in volume. They usually go through within hours; watch the policy issue in Deliverability.
An address is suppressed by mistake
Write to [email protected] with the address. Only Monfri support lifts a block.
