E-mail subscribers: who is on your lists

The list of everyone on your e-mail lists, the four states, the address check, a subscriber's page — profile, consent, list memberships, engagement and recent campaigns — and editing or removing someone.

Push → Email → Subscribers shows everyone on your e-mail lists. Each row is one person on one list: someone on two lists has two rows.

Find someone

Search by e-mail address or name, and filter by list (All Lists), state (All States) and the address check (All addresses: Valid, Risky, Invalid, Not checked yet). The columns are Email, Name, List, State and Subscribed. An address that failed the check has invalid or risky next to it — point at it to see why.

The four states

State Means Gets campaigns?
Active On the list. Yes — if they agreed to marketing e-mail.
Unsubscribed Left through the link in one of your e-mails — then on every list — or you unsubscribed them from this list. No. After the link, no marketing e-mail at all.
Bounced Their mailbox refused mail for good. No — and no e-mail at all from your workspace.
Suppressed They marked your e-mail as spam. No — no marketing at all. Their order e-mails still go.

Consent is separate from the state: someone added without a marketing-consent record stays Active but is left out of every campaign. So is an invalid address, and a risky one you have not allowed. See Lists: where your subscribers live.

The address check

Push checks every address: whether its domain exists and takes e-mail, whether it is a typo of a big provider, a temporary mailbox or a shared one such as info@. Invalid gets no e-mail at all; risky gets no campaigns or marketing, but its order e-mails still go. What each means: Unsubscribes, bounces and blocked addresses.

A subscriber's page

Click an address. At the top: Unsubscribe (or Resubscribe) and Delete.

  • Address check — Valid, Risky, Invalid or Not checked yet, with the reasons — gmial.com is a typo of gmail.com, A shared mailbox (info@) rather than a person. For a risky address you know is read, Allow this address: it gets your campaigns and marketing e-mails again (Stop marketing to it again undoes it). A person who marked an e-mail as spam — for any shop on Monfri — cannot be allowed. Below, what stops mail to the address now: Blocked for every e-mail after a bounce, or Unsubscribed from your marketing e-mails — and Inactive since … when campaigns leave the person out for not opening or clicking any of the last five or more.

  • Profile — First Name, Last Name, Country, City, Gender, Date of Birth, Status and Source (Manual, CSV Import, API, Sign-up Form). The e-mail address cannot change: delete the subscriber and add them again. Click Save Changes.

  • Custom Metadata — the extra columns from an import, usable as merge tags: Personalise e-mails with merge tags.

  • Timeline — when they were added, subscribed, unsubscribed and last changed.

  • Bounce Info — the bounce type and count, if their mail ever bounced.

  • List Memberships — every list this address is on, with its state there.

  • Email engagement — across all your campaigns: Campaigns received, Verified opens, Verified clicks and Last open, plus a tier. Verified leaves out the opens and clicks of Apple Mail Privacy Protection, Google's image proxy and Microsoft's link scanners, which are not people.

  • Recent campaigns — the last campaigns they got, with their opens and clicks.

Tier Means
hot Opened in the last 7 days and 3 or more times in the last 30.
warm Opened in the last 30 days.
cold Last open 30–90 days ago.
lapsed No verified open in 90 days, or never.

Unsubscribe, resubscribe, remove

  • Unsubscribe takes the person off this list's campaigns and keeps them on file. Marketing recipe e-mails stop when no list has them Active.
  • Resubscribe puts them back on this list. Someone who left through the link in one of your e-mails has no Resubscribe — instead the page says Unsubscribed from your marketing — only the person can undo it. They come back by signing up again through your form and confirming from the e-mail Push sends them.
  • Delete removes the person from this list for good.

If something doesn't work

Someone is Active but did not get a campaign

They have no marketing-consent record — the list's Will receive a campaign number leaves them out. Or the address is invalid or risky (look at Address check on their page), or it is blocked after a bounce on another list, or the person is inactive — five campaigns or more in 180 days without an open or a click (the campaign's Also send to inactive subscribers includes them). See Unsubscribes, bounces and blocked addresses.

Resubscribe does not bring back a bounced address

A hard bounce blocks the address for your whole workspace. If you are sure the address works again, write to [email protected].
