Lists: where your e-mail subscribers live
Creating a list, adding people one by one or from a file, the consent checkbox, what "Will receive a campaign" counts, exporting and deleting a list.
A list is the audience of an e-mail campaign: a campaign goes to one list. Lists are in Push → Email → Lists.
Create a list
Click Create List, give it a Name — for example Newsletter or Customers — and, if you like, a Description (optional), then Create List. Edit renames it later.
Add people
On the list's page, two ways:
- Add Subscriber — an Email and a Name (optional), then Add.
- Import / Export — a CSV file: Import contacts from a CSV file.
Both have a checkbox: This person agreed to receive marketing email. (for one person) and Everyone in this file opted in to marketing email. (for a file). Tick it only when it is true. Without consent they will be stored but excluded from every campaign — receipts and other transactional messages still reach them.
Who will receive a campaign
At the top of the list: Total Subscribers and Will receive a campaign — the number that decides whether a campaign reaches anyone. When it is lower, the line under it says why: … without consent, … unsubscribed or bounced, … invalid addresses and … risky addresses (see the address check). … addresses are still being checked — Push finishes before a campaign goes out. means Push has not looked at their domains yet: a campaign to the list checks them first and goes out a few minutes later, by itself.
A campaign to this list would reach nobody. means everyone on it is left out — most often because they were added without consent. A campaign sent anyway completes with 0 recipients.
The people on the list
The table below lists them with State and Subscribed; search by address or name, filter by state and by the address check (All addresses). An address that failed the check has invalid or risky next to it. Click an address for the subscriber's page: E-mail subscribers.
Export or delete
Export CSV downloads everyone on the list. Delete removes the list and the people on it; it cannot be undone. A campaign already sent to the list keeps its report.
If something doesn't work
A campaign to this list would reach nobody.
Nobody on the list has a marketing-consent record. An import does not change the consent of people already on the list. If they did agree, delete them and import the file again with Everyone in this file opted in to marketing email. ticked; if they did not, ask them to sign up.
This address unsubscribed from your marketing e-mails on …
The person left through an unsubscribe link in one of your e-mails, so Add Subscriber refuses them: Unsubscribes, bounces and blocked addresses.
The list shows fewer people than the file had
Rows with an invalid or empty e-mail are skipped, and an address that is already on the list — in capital or small letters — is updated, not added twice. The import's result on the list's page says how many were created, updated and failed — and how many of the addresses cannot receive e-mail, which domains look like typos (gmial.com → gmail.com), and how many are risky.
