The e-mail editor: blocks, design, preview and saving
The editor's three panels, adding and arranging blocks, a block's properties, the template's design, the preview on desktop, mobile and in the inbox, saving, undo and keyboard shortcuts.
The editor opens when you create or Edit a template. Everything you change is saved on its own, 2 seconds after you stop.
The top bar
From left to right: ← back to the library, the template's name, the Subject line and the Preheader text… (the grey line after the subject in the inbox), how many blocks and words it has, and the save state — Saving..., Saved with the time, or Save failed with Retry.
Then: full screen, Undo and Redo, Preview (and Edit to go back), Analyze — the content check: Check an e-mail before you send it — Versions, More ▾ (import, export, MJML, merge tags: Import, export, versions and saved blocks), Test Send and Save, which saves and goes back to the library.
Add and arrange blocks
On the left, the blocks: Content, Commerce and Interactive, and the layouts — 1 Column, 2 Equal, 1/3 + 2/3, 2/3 + 1/3, 3 Equal, Sidebar and 4 Columns. Drag a block onto the canvas where you want it. Every block is described in Every block in the e-mail editor.
On the canvas:
- click a block to select it; its bar has Move up, Move down, Duplicate, a handle to drag it, and Delete;
- right-click it for the menu: Duplicate, Copy, Move Up, Move Down, Lock / Unlock (a locked block cannot be changed, moved or deleted by mistake), Show / Hide (a hidden block stays in the template but is not sent), Save to Library and Delete;
- select several blocks to duplicate or delete them together.
A block's properties
The panel on the right shows the selected block's settings in groups: what it shows (text, image, link…), its layout (alignment, width, spacing), its style (colours, font, borders) and Hide on Mobile, which leaves the block out on phones.
Text is edited in place, with bold, italic, underline and links. Images come from your image library or a link — see Import, export, versions and saved blocks.
The design of the whole e-mail
With no block selected, the right panel shows Newsletter Settings — Global theme for this template:
- Typography — Primary Font and Secondary Font;
- Colors — the Brand Palette, Body Background and Content Background;
- Links — Link Color and Underline links;
- Button Defaults — Button Background, Button Text Color, Button Radius;
- Layout — Email Width;
- Theme Presets — saved combinations to reuse.
Preview
Preview shows the e-mail as it will be sent: Desktop and Mobile widths, Inbox — how the sender, subject and preheader look in an inbox list — and Dark for e-mail apps in dark mode. To see it in a real mailbox, use Test Send.

If something doesn't work
Save failed
The connection dropped or your session ended. Click Retry; if it fails again, copy any long text you wrote, reload the page and sign in again.
A block cannot be changed
It is locked — right-click it and choose Lock / Unlock. If the whole template does not change, the template is locked: the top says This template is locked — Unlock it in the library.
The e-mail looks different in Outlook
E-mail apps draw HTML differently. Keep to the editor's blocks, avoid the HTML block for layout, and check with Test Send in the apps your customers use.
