Won and lost deals: close a deal, reopen it, and the report
Mark a deal won or lost — a lost deal always says why — reopen a closed deal, what to do after a win, and the Won and lost report with the win rate and the reasons you lose.
A deal ends won or lost. Both are one click; a lost deal also asks why, so you can see later what you lose on.
Mark a deal won
On the deal's page click Mark as Won, or drop its card on the won stage of the board. The deal moves to the won stage with probability 100 % and today's close date: Deal marked as won.
After a win the deal's page offers the next steps — nothing is made without you:
- Create invoice — a new invoice for the deal's customer. Once made, the button becomes the invoice's number.
- Create project — a project for the work. Once made, the button becomes Project.
Mark a deal lost
- Click Mark as Lost, or drop the card on the lost stage of the board.
- Mark deal as lost asks Why was this deal lost? Pick a reason in Pick a reason…: Price too high, Lost to a competitor, No budget, Bad timing, No decision / went quiet, Not a fit, Chose to do nothing or Duplicate.
- Add a note in Anything to add? if you like — "who they went with, what the blocker was".
- Click Mark as Lost: Deal marked as lost.
Nothing is picked for you: the reason is always a choice. A manager changes the list of reasons in Settings → Pipeline setup → Reasons: Pipelines and stages.
Reopen a deal
Reopen on a won or lost deal makes it open again: Deal reopened. It goes back to the stage it was closed from (or the last open stage of its pipeline), and the close date and the reason are cleared.
The Won and lost report
Sales → Deals → Won and lost shows how your deals ended in Last 30 days, Last 90 days, Last 6 months or Last year:
- Deals won, Value won, Deals lost, Value lost;
- Win rate — won out of everything closed in the period;
- Leads disqualified;
- Why deals were lost — each reason with its deals and value, and the leads disqualified for it;
- By person — each salesperson's deals and value won and lost, win rate and leads disqualified;
- What people wrote — the notes added to the lost deals.
The amounts are in the workspace's currency; deals in other currencies are shown apart, never added in. Each person sees the deals they can see — a manager sees everyone's: Who sees which records.
