Apps: one for each website
What an app is in Push, the list and its statuses, an app's page — the opt-in prompt, verifying the installation, the Push SDK guide, API keys, topics and webhooks — and editing or deleting an app.
An app in Push stands for one website that collects web push subscribers. Monfri creates it for you when you set up your site in the Hub; each app has its own subscribers. They are in Push → Apps.
The list
Each app shows its Name, Website, Subscribers and Status:
| Status | Means |
|---|---|
| Ready | Made by the setup guide for your site: the Monfri tag on the site shows the opt-in prompt, nobody subscribed yet. Nothing to install. |
| Active | It has subscribers (an app the setup guide made), or its installation was checked and it has subscribers. |
| No Subscribers | Installation checked, nobody subscribed yet. |
| SDK Not Verified | Set up, but the installation was not checked yet. |
| Setup Pending | Not set up yet — Setup opens the guide. |
Create App adds one by hand — an App Name, the Website URL and an optional description — for a site the Hub does not know.
An app's page
At the top: Setup Guide, Opt-in prompt — the banner's words and look: The opt-in prompt — and Edit.
- Verify SDK checks your site from Monfri's servers and shows Service Worker and SDK Script with ✓ or ✗. A site with the Monfri script needs no service worker file, and the line says so.
- Installed through your Monfri tag — on an app the setup guide made: the tag on the site already shows the prompt; Edit the opt-in prompt, and a link to the manual guide for developers.
- Integration Guide — on an app made by hand: the three steps for adding the Push SDK by hand, for sites without the Monfri script, with Download for
push-sw.js, the script tag and the start code. Setup Guide walks through the same in four steps and checks them. - VAPID Public Key — used by the SDK on its own; only for a manual integration.
- API Keys — for developers who send through the Push API. Create Key shows the key once: Copy this key now. It will not be shown again. Only a Push admin can create or revoke keys.
When your plan includes them — Growth and Scale — App Settings has Notification Topics (Web push subscribers and topics) and Webhooks, which tell another system when something happens in Push.
Edit or delete
Edit changes the name, the website and the description. Security Settings → Allowed Origins lists other addresses that may use this app — a staging site, a subdomain; the website itself is always allowed.
Delete removes the app together with its subscribers and campaigns. Only a Push admin can delete an app.
If something doesn't work
Verify SDK shows ✗ for SDK Script
The check reads your home page as a visitor would. The script is missing, added through Google Tag Manager (the check cannot see it — it still works), or the page is cached without it. See Check that tracking works.
This address cannot be checked from our servers
The website address points to a private or internal address. Use the public address of the site.
Only an admin of Push can do this. Ask a workspace admin in Monfri.
Creating API keys and deleting an app are for Push admins.
