CDP settings: tracking, API keys, workspace and webhooks

Every CDP setting explained — the tracking script and site profile, the keys for developers, the workspace page, and webhooks that send CDP events to your own systems.

CDP's settings are under Configure → Settings, in three tabs: Tracking & SDK, API Keys and Workspace. Webhooks have their own page under Activate → Webhooks. Changing keys, integrations and webhooks needs the CDP Admin role; owners and admins of the workspace have it.

Tracking & SDK

Your site's domain and type, the tracking script, the check that it works, and the Advanced tracking configuration — consent, cookies across subdomains, which reading events are sent. Everything is explained in Sites in CDP: the domains that send you data and Consent and cookies on your site.

API Keys

Keys let other systems talk to CDP. You need them only when a developer connects something; the Monfri services talk to each other without them.

API Keys — click Create New API Key, give it a Name (for example Production SDK) and a Type:

  • Write (SDK tracking) — sends events in, like the key inside your tracking script;
  • Read (API access) — reads data out.

External API Keys — for a named outside system, with exactly what it may do. Click Create External API Key, enter a Name, a Description (optional) and the Scopes: Profiles (Read), Events (Read), Segments (Read), Analytics (Read), Webhooks (Manage). Choose at least one — Select at least one scope.

A new key is shown once — copy it straight away. To stop a key, click Revoke key next to it: Revoke this API key? This cannot be undone. Everything using it stops at once, so create the replacement first.

Workspace

General shows the Workspace Name, the Workspace ID, the Slug and the Plan. Members lists who has CDP access; people are invited, changed and removed in Monfri Hub — Manage in Monfri Hub. See What each person can open: service access. A change applies the next time the person opens CDP.

A workspace is deleted in the Hub, for every service at once, with 30 days to restore it or export its data — see Cancel, export everything, delete a workspace or your account.

Webhooks

A webhook sends CDP events to an address of yours the moment they happen — for example to your own system or an outside tool. Open Activate → Webhooks: Receive real-time notifications when events occur in your CDP.

  1. Enter a Name and the Endpoint URL — an https:// address of your system.
  2. Under Subscribed Events, choose the System Events — all events, an event received or processed, a profile created, merged or identified, a segment entered or exited, consent updated, a GDPR export or deletion completed — and any Track Events (from your data).
  3. Set Max Retries and the Timeout (ms) for a slow receiver.

Each webhook has a Secret: your system uses it to check that a call really comes from Monfri. Recent Deliveries shows each call and its result. To start flows in Monfri from CDP events you do not need a webhook — Automation listens to CDP by itself.

If something doesn't work

I cannot create keys or webhooks

Your CDP role is not Admin. Ask an owner or admin of the workspace.

A webhook shows failed deliveries

Your endpoint did not answer in time or answered with an error. Check that the address is reachable from the internet and answers quickly with a success; Monfri retries up to Max Retries times.

A system that used a key stopped working

The key was revoked. Create a new key and put it in that system.
