Sites in CDP: the domains that send you data

See every domain that sends data to your workspace and whether it is live, set up your site and its type, and fine-tune how the script tracks it.

In CDP, a site is a domain from which the Monfri script sends data. One workspace is one website — see Workspaces: one per website — but a website can have several domains, such as www., shop. or blog., and each of them shows up here.

See your sites

In CDP, open Configure → Sites. Every domain that sent data has a card with its name, its status, its type — E-commerce, News / Media or General — and three numbers: 24h events, 7d events and 7d visitors.

Status Meaning
Active Events arrived in the last 24 hours.
Inactive Events arrived in the last 7 days, but none in the last 24 hours.
No Data No events for 7 days.

Click a card to see the site in detail: Events (24h), Events (7d), Visitors (7d), Avg/day, the Daily Activity (14 days) chart, Top Pages (7d) and Event Types (7d). View Events opens the live list of events.

Set up your site

  1. Open Configure → Settings → Tracking & SDK — or click Add Site on Sites.
  2. Domain — without https://, for example example.com.
  3. Site type — E-commerce (online store), News / Blog (articles & content) or General (other website).
  4. For a store, Platform — WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento, CloudCart, OpenCart, WordPress or custom. Auto-detect guesses from the page; naming the platform makes store tracking exact.
  5. Click Generate tracking script. Under Install this script, click Copy and paste the tag into your site — see Install the Monfri script on your site.
  6. Verify installation checks every 5 seconds and says Tracking is working when the first events arrive.

The site setup guide in the Hub does the same in its step Your data.

What the site type changes

The type decides what CDP tracks and shows:

  • E-commerce — products, carts, checkouts and orders are tracked on the supported platforms, and the menu gets Commerce and Analytics → E-commerce.
  • News / Blog — articles, reading and attention are tracked, and the menu gets News, Newsroom Intelligence and Brands.
  • General — page views and engagement.

To change the type, choose another one and click Update script. The tag on your site stays the same: the script reads the new settings by itself. A site already sending data needs no change on the site.

Advanced tracking configuration

Below the script, Advanced tracking configuration fine-tunes the script without touching your site. Click Save configuration when done. Visitors get the change from the next page they open, within about five minutes.

Setting What it does
Site type, Platform As above.
Content language Forces the language when the page does not say it reliably, for example bg.
Cookie domain One visitor across your subdomains, for example .example.com. Without it, shop.example.com and blog.example.com count the same person twice.
Consent mode, the banner and the privacy switches See Consent and cookies on your site.
Events Which reading events the script sends — Track "Engaged", Track "Read", Track shares and two switches that keep the data lean. See What CDP collects: events.
URL → category rules For sites whose sections live in the address — for example everything under /sport/ is Sports.
Selector overrides (optional) Where the title, author, category, date and text of an article are on your page, when the script cannot find them by itself.

The last two take a short piece of JSON; if you are not sure, ask us at [email protected] and we set them up with you.

If something doesn't work

No sites tracked yet

Nothing has arrived from your site yet. Install the script and open your site — see Check that tracking works.

A site shows Inactive or No Data

The script stopped sending: the tag was removed or changed in a theme update, or a cache plugin serves an old version of the pages. Check the page source of the live site for monfri.global.js.

This site is already sending data

Tracking & SDK says so when a site sends data with a key that was set up some other way, for example through a store plugin. The key itself cannot be shown again — it is stored hashed. Click Generate public key to see the tag here; the site keeps working as it is.

A domain I don't know appears on Sites

Something sends data with your key — often a staging copy of your site or a translation proxy. If it should not, remove the tag from that copy.
