Contact lists: groups of contacts you choose

A list is a group of contacts you choose by hand — the people for a newsletter, the guests of an event, the customers of one campaign. A contact can be in many lists. A list never adds or removes anyone by itself.

Open Sales → Contacts → the Lists tab.

Create a list

1. Click Create List.
2. Give it a List Name and, if you like, a Description.
3. Click Create List.

Creating, editing and deleting lists needs CRM access Editor or Admin.

Add contacts

• From the contacts list: tick the contacts on All contacts, click Add to List, pick the list in Select a list and confirm. Only contacts you may change can be added.
• By import: open the list and click Import Contacts — everyone in the file goes into the list as well as into CRM: Import contacts from a CSV file.

A contact already in the list is not added twice.

Take contacts out

Open the list, tick the contacts and click Remove from List. The contacts stay in CRM — only their place in this list goes.

Work with a list's contacts

The list's page shows its name, description, how many Contacts it has, and Contacts in this List. Tick contacts to use the same actions as on the contacts list: Edit (Assign Owner, Update Company, Update Fields), Tags, Privacy, Add to List, Enroll in Sequence and Export: Contacts.

Delete in this bar deletes the contacts from CRM, not just from the list. Only managers see it.

Edit or delete a list

• Edit List on the list's page changes its name and description.
• ⋯ on a list in the Lists tab: Open, Edit and Delete. Deleting a list does not delete its contacts — it only removes the list.

If something doesn't work

You do not have permission to update some of the selected contacts.

Add to List adds only contacts you may change. Leave out the ones that are only shared with you.

Some contacts were not found.

A contact in the selection was deleted, or you can no longer see it. Reload the page and select again.
